Fitness Specialist

Overview

This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Program Branch;
Fleet Readiness;
Commander, Navy Installations Command;
Naval Air Station Pensacola FL. Incumbent serves as a Fitness instructor, personal trainer or group fitness instructor and may perform one or a combination of the following functions within the Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Program Branch:
Group Exercise, Command Fitness Leader Outreach, Fitness Enhancement Program Outreach.

Personal Training and Group Exercise

• Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
• Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
• You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
• May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
• A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
• Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Work requires lifting, pushing, pulling, recurring bending, stooping, stretching, twisting and utilizing all major muscle groups in demonstrating physical fitness techniques.
• Highly physical aerobic/anaerobic exertion is required when instructing group exercise classes from one to three hours daily.
• Infrequent periods of moving equipment in excess of fifty pounds are required.
