Crane Operator

Job Description

Operate a hydraulic lattice boom or telescoping type crane to hoist and move materials, raise and lower heavy weights and perform other related operations.

Valid, OSHA-recognized crane operator certification (NCCER, NCCCO).

• Operate crane to lift, move and position loads as required by the job.
• Pre-Operation inspection to ensure crane and all of its components are in proper working order.
• Maintenance reporting of any mechanical issues
• Comply with all safety policies and follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure the safety of everyone on site.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Load assessment determining the weight and balance of loads to avoid overloading the crane.

Perform other duties as assigned.

The employee in this job must be knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the company’s safety manual.

High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

minimum one year experience operating telescoping boom crane is required.

Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.

Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers. Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.

Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.)

The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high and/ or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
