Thompson Tractor Company is seeking a Field Service Technician responsible for servicing and repairing equipment, working independently and as part of a team at various field locations. The role requires evaluating and repairing diesel engines, gas engines, electric power generators and transfer switches. Extensive on‑job training, classroom instruction, and e‑learning must be completed to remain in the technician training program. The candidate will demonstrate initiative, teamwork, customer‑service enthusiasm and a commitment to finding solutions efficiently.

Advancement in classification occurs as attitude, skill level, and job performance improve.

• Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures.
• Orders and returns parts for assigned jobs in a timely manner.
• Performs tasks on core components—engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical—including removal, installation, disassembly, reassembly, and minor adjustments.
• Carries out preventive maintenance service according to factory guidelines.
• Demonstrates proper use of service information systems.
• Works as a helper in field service with an experienced technician as required.
• Adheres to and follows all applicable safety standards and procedures.
• Works independently in the field as required.
