Overview
Medical Sales Representative, Pensacola, FL – Pro Health Home Health and Hospice. This role focuses on building relationships with referral sources, educating stakeholders about Pro Health’s programs and services, and obtaining patient referrals within the assigned territory.
Primary Job Functions- Manage Sales Performance
- Ensure monthly Home Health and/or Hospice budgets are met on a consistent basis
- Review territory regularly and discuss with manager to optimize market potential
- Hold sales meetings to work with operations to achieve company goals; be prepared, organized, and engaged
- Territory Management – target and educate on home health and hospice services while utilizing resources
- Develop and implement weekly and monthly call plans for optimal territory productivity
- Strategic planning for the territory
- Identify new referral sources and grow business within the entity
- Efficiently cover the assigned territory weekly, monthly, and quarterly
- Maintain knowledge of systems used to track referrals and referral sources for trend discussion at sales meetings
- Meet territory call quotas and maintain accurate assignment reports
- Customer Knowledge and Market Dynamics – understand referral source businesses, organization structures, and market trends
- Assess market potential and differentiate physician vs. facility opportunities
- Know strengths and weaknesses of competitors and measure referral source productivity
- Strong selling skills including pre-call planning, sales process knowledge, relationship building, and problem solving
- Use available resources (sales materials, branch staff, medical directors, marketing budget) appropriately
- Handle confidential information appropriately and demonstrate accountability for activities
- Administrative Duties – attend and participate in meetings, complete manager-assigned tasks on time, document sales calls by deadline
- Log expenses and complete timesheets and mileage by deadlines
- Follow up on pending referrals
- Education
- Required:
An Associate’s Degree in Business, Nursing, Marketing, or a healthcare-related field. In lieu of a degree, five or more years of B2B and/or industry selling experience. - Desired:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Nursing, Marketing or Healthcare-related Field; formal sales training preferred. - Experience
- Required:
One year of sales experience. One or more years of related nursing experience may substitute for sales experience. - Desired:
Two to five years of sales experience; one or more years in home health or hospice sales or nursing. - Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
- Current Alabama Driver’s License
- Current Automobile Liability Insurance
- Equipment

- Medicare guidelines for home care services
- Communication and relationship development skills
- Problem identification, resolution and strategic planning
- Public relations and health education; basic sales knowledge
- Knowledge of geriatric referral sources and community needs
- Ability to communicate homecare and hospice services with all levels of the healthcare industry
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel within the assigned territory
Travel by car to physician offices, hospitals, community centers, and events. Exposure to all weather conditions. Environments may be unpredictable and not under agency control.
Physical Requirements- Ability to perform work requiring sitting, standing, walking, and driving
- Good vision and hearing; ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to climb stairs and access elevators; navigate various terrains
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently; 10 pounds constantly for moving objects
