ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISEExperts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.
Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

- Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
- Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
- Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
- Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs and thank them for shopping at Target
- Execute daily tasks to support business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas
- If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures
- Execute processes including price changes, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed
- Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability
- Be knowledgeable about resources, products, and services available in the total store and in your area to help guests
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
- Work safely at all times; comply with safety policies, report hazards and correct where possible
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking and packing orders or delivering pickup orders) while adhering to laws and compliance
- All other duties based on business needs

- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members
- Ability to communicate using multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
- Ability to stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb ladders
- Scan, handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance
- Be able to work in varying temperatures and conditions (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout)
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift
