DoW SkillBridge Fellowship – Cyber Analyst

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in intelligence, cyber threat intelligence, or information security roles with familiarity in cybersecurity tools and threat intelligence platforms
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a technical or engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience
• Experience working with intelligence sources and triaging information for analysis
• Proficient in tracking cyber threat infrastructure and curating indicators of compromise
• Knowledge in researching dark web threats
• Ability to correlate indicators of compromise (IoCs) to logs and alerts from various technologies, including IDS/IPS, firewalls, proxies, and antivirus across multiple platforms
• Experience in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data from diverse sources for documentation and advanced threat intelligence
• Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities
• Capacity to present findings succinctly to all staff levels, management, and vendors
• Relevant certifications such as GSEC, Sec+, GCTI, or other Information Security credentials
• Awareness and compliance with Navy Federal policies and procedures and regulations related to the Bank Secrecy Act

• Assist in intelligence collection, triage, and analysis of data obtained from intelligence sources – Conduct research on threat actor groups, malware, exploit methods, and vulnerabilities – Execute basic technical intelligence analysis of cyber threats using established analytical methods and forensic tools – Analyze threats that impersonate the NFCU brand – Investigate dark web actors and trends affecting the Financial Services Sector – Assess potential threats to NFCU Key Service Providers – Build networks with external organizations through trusted communities and develop relationships with internal stakeholders – Provide research support for incident response investigations, threat landscape assessments, and collection planning – Aid the team in creating an information‑sharing program with public/private organizations and relevant communities – Utilize OSINT research, network and host forensic analysis, log review, and correlation to support investigations – Develop thorough intelligence reports detailing threats and their methods for diverse audiences – Contribute to internal documentation, including detailed procedures, playbooks, and operational metrics reports as necessary – Provide research support for longer‑term analytic projects as required – Carry out daily tasks as assigned
