Position: Professional Land Surveyor / LSIT

We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Land Surveyor‑in‑Training (LSIT) who is eager to grow within a dynamic surveying and land acquisition/development environment. The ideal candidate is experienced with surveying equipment, proficient in CAD, Carlson and Civil 3D, and comfortable working both in the field and in the office. This individual will support a variety of surveying projects, ensuring accurate data collection, efficient workflows, and high‑quality deliverables.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct field surveys including boundary, topographic, construction staking, ALTA, and other land surveys.
  • Operate and maintain Sokkia GNSS, robotic total stations, and data collectors.
  • Process field data and create survey deliverables using Carlson Survey.
  • Draft survey drawings, plats, legal descriptions, and related documents.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field crews to ensure accuracy and consistency across projects.
  • Perform quality control checks on survey data and mapping products.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local surveying regulations and professional standards.
  • Support both field operations and office production as project demands require.
Qualifications
  • Current Florida PLS license, or Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) working toward PLS licensure.
  • Experience conducting field surveys using Sokkia equipment.
  • Proficiency in Carlson, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, land records, and legal descriptions.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in both outdoor field conditions and an office environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.
  • Split between office-based drafting/processing and field-based data collection.
  • Outdoor work may involve varying weather and terrain common in Florida.
