Amentum is currently seeking a CNOQC Mentor in Pensacola, Florida. Mentors will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary Team delivering highly sophisticated, technical, hands‑on training solutions to meet the mission and time‑critical needs of our customers.

Responsibilities

Mentors act both as subject matter experts, as well as coaches for students – working not only to impart the expertise require to meet certification standard for their career path, but also how to be successful in mission when it counts. In addition,

  • Mentors provide student guidance on specific learning objectives, topic areas, and organizational skills critical to success in this training pipeline.
  • Mentors provide highly technical hands‑on collaborative skill‑building expertise to students to prepare them to meet the mission‑critical needs of our customers.
  • Mentors work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary Team to support students completing this foundational technical course.
  • Mentors monitor student progress and watch for any students who may be struggling or need additional assistance and communicate observations to the student, fellow mentors, and Customer.
  • Mentors provide recommendations for updates to course content, training materials, exams, and documentation.
  • Mentors work closely with Content Developers to review, conduct quality assurance, and provide recommendations for all exams, exercises, video, and content related to CNOQC.
Requirements
  • Effective communication, writing, documentation, and requirements‑gathering skills are needed to be effective in this role for working with other members of the Team and with the Customer to meet the program requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Be available in person during normal business hours Mon‑Fri to assist students with understanding complex technical concepts necessary to succeed.
  • Work with students to determine their needs and provide the best type of support/assistance (for example, explain and demonstrate technical concepts, assistance with finding resources, etc.).>
  • Demonstrate general knowledge across multiple disciplines. Areas include the Windows Operating System (OS), UNIX, Networking, and Security Concepts.
  • Experience with virtualization technology is employed heavily to simulate real‑world scenarios that create an immersive cyber‑environment for students.
Clearance Required
  • Must Be Clearable (TS/SCI with Poly desired)
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical engineering, Math, Integrated systems & design, Education, Information systems, Cyber engineering, or related field is desired, but not required. Additional experience required in lieu of a degree.
Minimum Years of Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the development, testing, deployment, operations, training, or maintenance of electrical/electronic/software systems. An additional three (3) years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree for a total of eight (8) years of experience.
  • Experience engineering design, development, deployment, operations, training or maintenance related to Windows and Unix variants.
  • Administration knowledge of setting up and maintaining common Unix, Unix variant, and/or Windows servers.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of creating and configuring virtual hosts and networks using VMware in support of developing and/or instructing realistic scenarios.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used software‑programming languages (to include, but not limited to: Python, Ruby, and/or shell scripting).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of scenario development and Interactive Virtual Learning module creation using tools such as VMware vSphere, VMware vCenter, Moodle, Captivate, Camtasia, and Articulate.
Preferred
  • Experience as a trainer or course developer for cyber courses.
  • Experience working closely with military personnel.
Attendance
  • Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40‑hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements.…
