The Student Services Specialist is a part‑time professional position that supports the implementation of the Educational Talent Search grant project. The role requires counseling and educational outreach to low‑income, first‑generation, and disabled students and their families. The Specialist will coordinate communication with students, families and community resource agencies, maintain student records, provide data on participation and attendance, and collaboratively work with the College and public‑school systems.
The position reports to the Program Director, Educational Talent Search.
- Assist the Director in implementing the Educational Talent Search grant project.
- Provide counseling services to aid students in developing personal, educational, and career goals.
- Coordinate and maintain communication with students, families and community resource agencies.
- Offer educational services to low‑income, potential first‑generation college students, students with disabilities, and their familiesengisa.
- Assess the eligibility and needs of middle‑school students.
- Conduct program visits with project participants.
- Plan, schedule and coordinate college tours.

- Travel within the district on a regular basis and work flexibility (including evening hours) as required to meet grant objectives.
- Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in education, social work, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience
Flexible in career counseling, recruitment services, academic advising, student services, or public school teaching. - Successful completion of a background check.
- Experience working with culturally diverse low‑income families and students with disabilities.
- Experience coordinating educational projects and activities.
- Documented public speaking experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel).
$21.50 (Maximum 29 hours per week)
