Construction Inspector

Job Description

The Construction Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and inspecting civil construction for the City’s Reimagine Palafox project!

• Reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications with contractors and subcontractors
• Ensure the quality and adherence to design specifications throughout the construction process
• Inspect grades, materials, surfacing applications, stormwater drainage, and sewer installations for compliance with established requirements

• Civil construction knowledge and experience
• Experience in public project engineering such as street or sewer construction
• Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, practices, and techniques used in construction
• Ability to read and interpret routine engineering designs and specifications
• Skilled in the application of proper inspection and investigation methods and techniques
• Ability to pass a drug and background check
• Ability to work overtime when needed
