Administrative Assistant - Food & Beverage
Role at Navy Region Southeast Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) aboard NAS Pensacola. This position is located in the Food and Beverage Branch, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department.
Incumbent is responsible for performing administrative duties requiring a moderate level of experience and discretion in support of the Food and Beverage Branch.
Responsibilities- Assist in the formulation of local instruction and directives within the framework of local and DOD component policies concerning established social and recreational services or programs, subordinate responsibilities, reporting procedures, maintenance and other related operational requirements.
- Maintain good patron and employee relations and efficient patron service.
- Keep track of employee hours and documentation on their time cards.
- Responsible for receipt of daily sales, safekeeping, deposit, and accountability of daily funds.
- Use a computer to prepare and produce various letters, forms, reports, purchase requests, contracts and statistical data.
- Answer phones, keep minutes of meetings, collect all invoices, file all correspondence and assist manager with additional duties.
- Maintain all Food and Beverage Branch employee training requirements.
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- Must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I‑9.
- May be required to pass pre‑employment examinations.
- Valid State driver’s license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
In order to qualify for this position, resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties. Use clear and specific language when describing experience. All non‑government positions must include address and dates. Government positions must include pay plan, series, grade, dates and agency address.
Specialized Experience- Knowledge of DOD component MWR management procedures and general business practices related to operational management of social and recreational programs and effective utilization of club facilities and equipment.
- Knowledge of money handling, daily audit report (DAR), deposits, filing system and inventories.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs and reports.
- Preferred: knowledge of Rec Trac and/or similar POS systems.
Experience, including volunteer and part‑time, is credited toward qualification. Clearly identify duties, responsibilities, and total hours per week. Volunteer work through National Service programs helps build competencies.

Education1 year of general administrative support and clerical experience, OR at least 2 years of education above high school. Include transcripts if qualifying based on education.
