Welcome to JELD-WEN Penrith – the European flagship for UK production. With the addition of a new manufacturing line and a broader transformation agenda across the business, this is an exciting time to join us.

We are now looking to recruit an HGV Shunter Driver who will shunt trailers on and off bays and to the external warehouse, assist in loading and general warehouse duties.

Location: Penrith CA11
Shifts: Monday to Friday schedule with a rotating 3-shift pattern (6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, 10pm–6am)

Great Pay: Start from £16.25/hour, with shift premiums and enhanced overtime rates

Pay Rates:

• Early Shift (6am–2pm): £16.25/hour
• Late Shift (2pm–10pm): £17.23/hour
• Night Shift (10pm–6am): £18.77/hour

• Daily pre-use checks
• Shunt trailers timely & efficiently between locations
• Help to strap loads
• Liaise with Haulers when required
• Work to a loading/unloading schedule
• Seal and secure all loaded trailers within the yard
• Position trailers to allow safe unloading
• Ensure outside bay areas are kept clean and litter free
• Be responsible for basic upkeep of shunter vehicle
• Check lights, tyres and insides of trailers
• Adhere to the company’s H&S regulations

• HGV1 Licence holder
• FLT License is desirable but not essential
• Strong commitment to a 'Safety First' culture
• Ability to work independently to a high standard
• Highly motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Positive attitude
• Excellent team player with strong communication skills
