Material Handler
A Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing the shipment and receipt of products, materials, and supplies in a company, warehouse, or facility. It requires keeping records of all items shipped and received, developing mailing labels and shipping documents, and storing items in appropriate areas.
It may also involve coordinating with other personnel or service providers involved in the shipping and receiving process.
Essential Functions- Responsible for all shipping, receiving, and warehouse duties of a manufacturing, R&D, and clinical trial company. Maintain receipt, completing all necessary documentation and distribution.
- Manage inventory materials in a timely manner to assure items are available for use in manufacturing.
- Maintain all ERP materials in proper storage and check daily for expired items, complete scrap reports with all necessary approvals.
- Fill in-house requisitions and perform required ERP transactions for finance.
- Complete daily cycle counts requested by supply chain and manufacturing teams, keeping inventory current and accurate.
- Responsible for hazardous waste management, physical storage, disposal and scheduling of pick up, maintain all documentation per EPA requirements.
- Utilize SAP Management System completing receipt in SAP when product arrives.
- Responsible for all outbound shipping, including temperature sensitive/cold chain shipments.
- Arrange with carriers and brokers for shipping manufactured bulks and finished products to 3rd party warehouses and international intercompany affiliates.
- Effectively interact with multiple disciplines and in various health and research environments.
GED or High School Diploma
Experience Requirements- 5-7 years of shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse environment.
- Direct experience preparing international shipments or related experience (e.g. customs clearance, HTS code knowledge) strongly preferred.
- Inventory and warehouse management systems, SAP preferred GMP experience preferred.
- Ability to use a pallet jack and hand truck.
This job operates in an office and clinical laboratory setting.
Physical Demands- May require long periods of sitting and will serve to support general lifting across the site.
- Independently lift 50 lb boxes on occasion.
This is a full time, salaried/non-exempt level position. Standard hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; however, this position may require longer hours, evening, and weekend work as necessary.
TravelThis position may require infrequent domestic travel; approximately 5% or less.
