• Operate required equipment to package, convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas.
• Examine and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with appropriate personnel to rectify damages and shortages.
• Perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

• Prior experience in receiving, preferably in a steel processing or manufacturing environment.
• Good mathematical competencies.
• Attention to accuracy and detail.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Familiarity with different types of steel materials, their properties, and handling requirements is beneficial.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage inventory, prioritize tasks, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Able to read a tape measure to the sixteenth; experience with micrometers and calipers preferred.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, inventory management software, and email communication. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks. Knowledge of proper loading, unloading, and stacking techniques for steel products.
