Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring paperwork accuracy, and entering information into our system. This role also supports occasional local deliveries using a company cargo van and plays a key role in troubleshooting discrepancies to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify incoming and outgoing materials against paperwork for accuracy.
- Enter shipping and receiving documentation into the system and properly tag materials.
- Identify and troubleshoot discrepancies between materials and paperwork, determining what went wrong and helping resolve issues.
- Communicate with internal teams to correct errors and ensure accurate inventory records.
- Maintain organized and accurate records related to shipments and materials.
- Periodically make local deliveries using a company cargo van (typically out of the building for about an hour).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
- Comfortable driving a cargo van with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn company systems.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Comfortable being around warehouse operations; heavy lifting is not a primary responsibility.
