Job Summary
:

As a Logistics Supervisor, your responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day dispatch operations. While based in Toughkenamon, you’ll collaborate with the Logistics Manager in Blandon, PA, to manage routing and dispatching for all outbound loads. With our 24/7 locations, you’ll be part of an on-call rotation that covers nights and weekends. Your key tasks involve supervising a team of dispatchers and ensuring efficient routing, on-time deliveries, and exceptional customer service.

Essential Functions
:

Trip Building and Carrier Assignment:

• Ensure the dispatch team handles orders and trips accurately.
• Train team members to create legal routes following Hours of Service (HOS) and Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and maintain processes to enhance dispatch efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Logistics Manager to assign routes and select carriers.
• Monitor product availability to ensure timely departures of trucks.
• Continuously evaluate route efficiency and optimize as needed.

Customer Delivery Procedures:

• Track and maintain customer On-Time scorecards.
• Identify areas for improvement, such as reducing customer detention times and enhancing routing efficiency.
• Address day-to-day delivery issues, keeping internal Customer Service and Sales teams informed of delays and proposed solutions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for freight claims.
• Document claims, make accountability decisions, and coordinate resolution with relevant parties (internal or external carriers).
• Participate in monthly management meetings to address rejections and implement strategies to reduce claims.

Appointment Scheduling:

• Supervise appointment scheduling within the department.
• Collaborate with sales, Customer Service teams, and customers to optimize appointment availability for efficient route planning.

Outside Freight Sales Support:

• Coordinate with Backhaul staff to manage driver schedules and comply with HOS regulations.
• Assist the freight sales team in delivering outside freight, handling paperwork, optimizing truck utilization, and improving routing efficiency.
• Develop processes to track outside freight costs versus revenue gained.

Daily Routing Financial Management:

• Support Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and carrier onboarding.
• Review and manage carrier costs effectively.

Required Experience, Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

:

• Proven experience as a Logistics Supervisor or similar roles include driver routing, trip scheduling, and driver dispatch experience.
• Ability to manage a daily shipping schedule of at least 55 trucks
• Multi-stop refrigerated experience preferred
• DOT and HOS knowledge
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• IT skills:
  Office, teams, Produce Pro, time and attendance.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to provide feedback and take corrective action when required.
• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
