Overview

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Driver at our Wellsville, PA location. The Driver is responsible for driving a 26-foot box truck to different facilities for deliveries. This position does not require a CDL, but it does require that the Driver carries a DOT card. This position is responsible for performing on time deliveries while making sure our products are delivered with care.

• Performs pre-trip inspection and in-route inspections to ensure each load is properly secured. Makes adjustments to loads as required.
• Fuels and performs minor maintenance/care to the truck as needed. This could include adjusting mirrors, cleaning mirrors and windows, etc.
• Inspects truck for defects before and after trip(s) and submits report indicating truck condition. Corrects any defects prior to departure on assigned trip. Reports maintenance repairs needed to supervisor and/or maintenance department.
• Drives truck to destination to deliver loads.
• Assists workers in loading and unloading truck.
• Verifies bundle counts and condition of product. Notifies appropriate staff of any discrepancies or problems and completes appropriate paperwork.
• Obtains customer signature on manifests prior to departure.
• Performs other duties as assigned when not driving including but not limited to packing, loading, skid-making, etc.

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous professional driving experience is preferred
• Must possess a valid Driver's License
• Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and maintain driver and maintenance logs.
• Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
• A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
• Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
• Must have and carry a DOT card
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen, and MVR
• Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsor ships are not available
• Must have regular attendance

• The employee is regularly required to stand; the employee is frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
• The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Pay rates: USD $19.25–$22.52 per hour.
