The W. Dale Brougher Foundation YMCA in Shrewsbury is seeking attentive and responsible Lifeguards to maintain a safe and welcoming pool environment for all. In this role, you ll monitor swimmers, respond quickly to emergencies, and support participants of all ages in a positive, team-oriented setting.

• Minimum age of 15
• Certifications:
  
  American Red Cross Lifeguard
• Obtain a state police clearance, a child abuse clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
• Obtain Mandated Reporter Clearance

• Physically perform all skills required of a lifeguard
• Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility
• May regularly work in an outside environment and exposed to the elements
• May have exposure to pool chemicals
• Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness
• See and observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility
• Employee must be able to communicate effectively by speaking and listening in a loud environment
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
