Hiring: ORR Juvenile Treatment OPS Leaders (Third Shift)

We are hiring Juvenile Treatment Shift Leaders, OPS Leaders to join our team on the ORR Juvenile Service unit at Abraxas Academy. As an OPS Leader, you will help improve the lives of at-risk youth in our community.
Abraxas Academy provides detention and treatment services for court-committed youth and is located minutes off Exit 298 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Berks County.
Salary: $27.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Shift: Third Shift
Responsibilities- As a Juvenile Detention Shift Leader, oversee the daily activities on one or more units to support the facility schedule.
- Ensure standard operating procedures, program policy and procedures, and the client interventions process are implemented appropriately.
- Interact with and supervise clients during daily activities to ensure safety and security.
- Provide effective security practices (headcounts, room checks, client movement) and on-the-job training to Youth Development Team Leaders.
- Observe client behavior and intervene appropriately; process intakes and screen clients according to program policy.
- Facilitate and document groups/meetings; administer medication or supervise self-administration when necessary.
- Support the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promote the Seven Key Principles of care; demonstrate Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.
- Associate's degree or sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited college or university.
- At least twenty-one (21) years of age
- Driver's License
- Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing
- Criminal clearances (State Police, FBI and State Child Abuse Clearances)
- Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal references and driving records
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department
- Must pass both federal and state background checks screening for crimes including drug-related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors

- Direct the daily activities of juvenile males in programming using acceptable behavioral management principles and exercise independent judgment in crisis situations.
- Demonstrate professionalism, maintain boundaries, and communicate effectively with staff and residents.
- Be able to enforce rules in a firm yet supportive manner and work effectively as part of a team.
- Be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook.
- Maintain routine records, logs and reports and learn facility rules, regulations, and licensing requirements.
