H&K Group, Inc. is seeking an auto technician or diesel mechanic technical high school student for part‑time cooperative education positions. • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Receive oral or written direction from the shop foreman on plans for the day’s tasks
• Read job order and observe and listen to equipment in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures
• Assist in the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance for various equipment and vehicles
• Assist with all standard maintenance on trucks and equipment and ensure state inspection requirements are met for cars, trucks, and trailers
• Apply classroom techniques to regularly scheduled maintenance and repair activities
• Other duties as assigned

• Enrollment in an accredited technical high school or technical high school program in auto mechanics, diesel mechanics, or related field
• Basic math and communication skills
• Able and willing to work an abbreviated 2nd shift schedule
• Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

• 1 year completed study in the related technical field
• Previous co-op or internship experience

• Frequently required to stoop, crouch, kneel; use hands to finger, feel, and grasp
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, climb, balance, and crawl; lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

• Noise level is loud at times
• Required to work outdoors in all environments at times
