On-Call Tactical Guard

In this role, what matters most is your ability to read the environment, anticipate risk, and act quickly and professionally. Your strong observational skills, sound judgment and ability to interact positively with others will be your greatest strengths.

Despite being primarily an observational and supervisory role, this requires physical stamina, attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage high-responsibility environments such as detention areas, secure facilities, and other critical sites.

This position requires the ability to remain composed and professional in challenging environments, including occasions of verbal hostility. Garda World provides training and support to help employees safely manage difficult interactions.

This is an on-call position with no guaranteed hours. We will do our best to accommodate your schedules.

• Hourly compensation: $26.00 - $32.00

• Maintain the care, custody, and control of detainees in a secure detention environment
• Conduct regular detainee welfare and safety checks at required intervals
• Monitor detainee behaviour and identify potential risks, medical concerns, or self‑harm indicators
• Assist with the safe escorting and movement of detainees within secure areas
• Control access to secure areas and maintain perimeter security
• Search for and prevent the introduction of contraband in accordance with policy
• Accurately complete logs, reports, and required documentation

• Clean criminal background and Vulnerable Sector Check
• Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Reliability Security Clearance (Permanent Canadian resident for a minimum of 5 years required)
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C (Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, or Heart & Stroke)
• Physically capable of standing, walking and patrolling for extended periods
