Store Manager in Training – O'Reilly Auto Parts

Assist store manager in sales, appearance, and overall operations of the store. The role provides hands‑on training to prepare the Manager in Training for a management position at another store or future location.

• Supervise professional and retail operations, including all delivery and installer service specialists and all parts and merchandising specialists.
• Supervise work performed by all team members assigned to the store/HUB store in collaboration with the district manager and store manager (recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging).
• Communicate information from Team Weekly and Monthly store manager meetings to all team members.
• Train new team members, conduct performance evaluations, and recommend pay increases.
• Assist in the hiring process: complete recruiting tasks, schedule and participate in interviews, evaluate candidates, and collaborate with management to select qualified members.
• Support the store manager with safety compliance and training; monitor and reinforce safety expectations.
• Make sales calls with or without the store manager and may be assigned a weekly customer call schedule.
• Assist in store operations as assigned.
• Maintain the delivery fleet, keep records for each vehicle, and keep the store/HUB store neat, clean, and organized.
• Learn electronic scheduling, clocking, payroll, and payroll entry functions.
• Manage key components of gross profit: review professional customer returns, monitor warranty abuse, assess price matches and overrides, analyze productivity and KPI dashboards daily, and review monthly P&L with the store manager.

Required

• High School Diploma
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• Completion of Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program
• Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately
• Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systems

Desired

• Previous O'Reilly store and/or distribution center experience
• Completed O'Reilly management training program
• Advanced computer skills
• ASE Certification
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
