Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. - Adhere to guest service requirement listed above.
- Adhere to established department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
- Must maintain the strictest confidence of all confidential information disclosed by an Ameristar entity.
- Coach, monitor, and develop team members for improved performance.
- This is a uniformed position, which requires that team members are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty.
- Demonstrates ability to plan and organize the stewarding department.
- Demonstrates ability to train team members in chemical usage and appropriate food handling practices.
- Possesses ability to take inventories, place orders, receive orders and will be required to carry out all.
- Demonstrates ability to delegate shift station responsibilities and supervise kitchen when called upon.
- Demonstrates ability to maintain cleanliness of all back of house areas.
- Practice Safe food handling and sanitation duties as given to by management.
- Demonstrates the ability to handle varying business with little assistance.
- Demonstrates willingness to assist other team members as needed without being asked.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate through logbooks, verbally and written.
- Demonstrates the ability to be proactive in maintaining Ameristar standards.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow up on projects in a timely manner and complies with departmental policies as well as with Company rules, regulations, and policies set forth in the employee handbook.
- Reports on any equipment malfunctions. Maintains station in a neat and orderly manner.
- Reports with proper tools, clean uniform, and recommended footwear at the stated time.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Good verbal communication required.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
- Maintain Company Standards; be in compliance with Health Codes and OSHA.
- Must have decision-making ability; frequent communication with other department heads; must be willing to accept responsibility of inventory, breakage control and accurate labor cost.
- Uses appropriate language when engaging guests and co-workers in conversation, communicating clearly and courteously, provides continued service to all guests.
- Determines the nature of guest concerns and takes appropriate action to resolve general concerns, obtaining assistance from the proper personnel, as necessary.
- Ability to work with interruptions.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1-3 years' experience in cleaning, preferably in a hotel or casino.
