Emerging Technologies, Manufacturing Science and Technology, Janssen Supply Group, part of the Janssen Supply Chain, is seeking a Co-Op to be based in Spring House, PA. The Co-Op will contribute to Emerging Technologies initiatives in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, including new manufacturing methods in upstream and downstream processing, and process analytical technology (PAT) sensors and modeling to support next-generation manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of lab experiments to support biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including cell culture, downstream processing, and formulation of drug substance.
- Set up and operate small-scale bioreactors, perform offline assays, and analyze spectral data to ensure accurate execution of experiments.
- Conduct comparative experiments using PAT and other process outputs while contributing to modeling of biochemical data for analysis and optimization.
Education:
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Required
Experience and Skills:
- Strong coursework background in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, or related field.
- Experience with programming languages such as R, Matlab, Python, etc., for data modeling and trend analysis.
- Permanently authorized to work in the U.S.; must not require sponsorship of an employment visa at application or in the future. Students on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long-term employment and do not meet program requirements unless eligible for an alternative long-term status without company sponsorship.
Preferred
Skills:
- Knowledge or experience in cell culture, chromatography, or related processing steps in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Familiarity with spectroscopic techniques or instrumentation.
- Understanding of process modeling, scale-up principles, or statistical analysis is a plus.
