Lab Technician

Country View Family Farms is seeking a Lab Technician.

• Sample collection and testing:
  Collect and prepare samples of feed, conduct laboratory tests to assess quality, composition, and detect any potential contaminants.
• Documentation:
  Maintain clear, accurate records of test results and quality checks, ensuring all findings are properly documented.
• Equipment maintenance:
  Set up, use, and clean laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and compliance with safety protocols.
• Data analysis and reporting:
  Analyze nutrient content, report results, and support troubleshooting of any quality issues in the feed products.
• Compliance:
  Ensure all testing and processes adhere to regulatory standards and company quality assurance policies.
• Support QA processes:
  Assist with audits, participate in continuous improvement efforts, and help resolve non-conformance issues.

• Education:
  
  Associate degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Biology, or a related field; sometimes a high school diploma with relevant experience is accepted.
• Skills:
  
  Attention to detail, ability to follow standardized protocols, basic understanding of laboratory testing and QA principles, and proficiency with data analysis tools.
• Experience:
  
  Prior laboratory or quality control experience is often preferred, as is knowledge of feed mill operations or animal nutrition.

• Extended time walking or standing; ability to lift materials (up to ~40 lbs).
• Work may be on concrete or slippery surfaces, and requires clarity of vision for close work.

• Use of standard lab instruments (e.g., moisture analyzers, spectrometers), and possibly Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Knowledge of safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and possibly HACCP regulations.
