• Active, unencumbered license (LPN/LVN) in the state of practice
• Compact licenses transferred within 90 days of state of residence
• Current CPR certification (hands‑on component). Aveanna can assist with obtaining this after hire, if necessary.
• TB skin test current within the last 12 months
• Six months prior hands‑on nursing experience preferred but not required
• Reliable transportation

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides and documents skilled nursing care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following the care plan and physician orders while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

• Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
• Continuously observe and assess patient condition and care needs, reporting changes to the supervisor and/or physician as appropriate.
• Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care promptly.
• Participate, implement, and update the nursing care plan.
• Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment and achieve expected outcomes.
• Recognize changes in patient needs and respond promptly to prevent or reduce risk.
• Accept responsibility for personal and professional accountability, complying with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Provide care using infection control measures that protect staff and patient per OSHA standards.
• Educate patient and family on disease process, self‑care techniques, and prevention strategies.
• Maintain knowledge of competencies related to the nursing profession through educational programs, CEUs, internal learning management, and skill evaluations.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies and procedures.

• South Carolina – One (1) year of pediatrics experience.
• California – One (1) year of experience working under current nursing license.
• Louisiana – One (1) year of experience as a licensed nurse.
• Continuing education as required by state.

• Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting.
• Home health experience.

• Travel ability.
• Lift 50 pounds.
• Reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.

• Strong sense of smell and touch.
• Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport.

• Function in various environments that may involve exposure to allergens and other conditions.
• Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
