Job Summary Geisinger Convenient Care is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Mount Carmel, PA.

Job Duties

Geisinger Convenient Care (urgent care) clinicians diagnose and treat common medical problems including sore throats, earaches, sinus infections, flu, urinary tract infections and more. Routine health exams, immunizations, screenings and wellness services are also provided.

Convenient Care has much to offer, allowing you to live well in both your professional and personal life:

  • $20k recruitment incentive. Lump sum paid upon start. 30-month work obligation with department (not applicable for internal, lateral transfer)

  • Geography Stipend – $7,800 - guaranteed for 1 year after which time the stipend is evaluated for continuance (not applicable for internal, lateral transfer)

  • Attractive schedule

    Office Hours - Monday - Friday 8:45 am – 8:15 pm Saturday & Sunday 7:45 am – 6:15 pm
  • 14 rotating shifts/month; work every other weekend

  • No overnight shifts and no mandated additional shifts

  • Call approximately six nights per year

  • Six observed holidays - Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day

  • Work autonomously with limited administrative burden

  • Work in comfort - Scrub attire

Experience is required -
Due to the autonomous nature of the position, advanced practitioners must be able to treat patients from age one and older and have a minimum of six months advanced practitioner experience in primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care, or critical care.

Education Bachelor's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required), Master's Degree-Physician Assistant (Preferred)
Certification(s) and License(s)
Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA);
Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
