Position Overview

Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) at United Surgical Partners International, Inc. The OR RN provides nursing care and service during surgical cases. Responsibilities include positioning the patient, prepping the patient, and circulating the case. The OR RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients of all ages in the operating room while adhering to nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center.

The OR RN makes patient‑care decisions, communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members, and may participate in committees, quality improvement audits, and other initiatives as designated by the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing.

• Position, prep, and circulate patients during surgery.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for all ages in the operating room.
• Make direct patient‑care decisions and communicate with physicians, families, and other personnel.
• Participate in committees and quality improvement projects as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania.
• BLS, ACLS, or PALS certification required upon hire and within one year of hiring.
• Ability to scrub and circulate as needed.
• At least one year of experience in an intra‑operative setting.
• Demonstrated clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
• Physically and emotionally capable of performing all responsibilities of the position.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
