Primary Function

To plan, develop and manage a comprehensive program for the overall cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of planned and major gift prospects.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit major gift prospects of $10,000 or more.
  • Be responsible for managing a prospect pool of a minimum of 100-150 prospects/donors.
  • Work with volunteers, the president and advancement department staff to plan strategies for cultivation, stewardship and solicitation of prospective donors.
  • Provide stewardship to major donors.
  • Advise prospects on current and deferred giving.
  • Support the efforts of other members of the advancement staff as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of information related to prospects and ensure donor records are up to date.
  • Implement special responsibilities as assigned including campaigns as part of the Foundation's strategic plan of supporting the college.
  • Organizational Relationships
  • Responsible to the Senior Director, NCC Foundation.
  • Work cooperatively with the president and members of the Foundation Board.
  • Work cooperatively with institutional advancement colleagues in carrying out departmental objectives.
  • Coordinate work with members of the administrative team.
  • Performance Standards
  • Mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within specified time frame.
  • Responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives.
  • Effective cooperation exists with other members of the administrative team.
  • Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree required.
  • Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
    • Highly motivated and achievement-oriented;
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
    • Some knowledge of tax laws and deferred giving strategies desired.
    • Ability to confidently and authentically establish and build relationships with individuals is mandatory.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, to work well in a fast-paced work environment, and to be flexible. Collegiality and a sense of humor are important.
    • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed for events.
    • Highly developed sense of work ethic and integrity.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of one to two year of progressively responsible funding-raising experience or general experience in institutional advancement, with demonstrated success in closing major gifts.
