Employment Consultant – ADEC
Join ADEC as an Employment Consultant and help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) find meaningful employment in Elkhart and St. Joseph County.
Position OverviewADEC’s mission is to help people with IDD by connecting them with opportunities that match their goals and abilities. The Employment Consultant role focuses on advocacy, job search support, and employer partnership.
Responsibilities- Discuss with clients what meaningful work means for them
- Assist clients with job search, interviewing, and onboarding
- Mentor clients and employers to ensure successful job placement
- Search for employment opportunities that meet a client’s goals and abilities
- Advocate for a client’s abilities and desire for employment with area employers
- Partner with employers to fill their employment needs
- Develop new employer partnerships, highlighting the benefits of employing an individual with IDD
- Positively impact the local community and economy

Starting pay: $17.50–$18.50 per hour. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have strong customer service and communication skills, experience with the IDD population, and a drive to meet with employers to create employment opportunities.
