The Fabrication Supervisor provides a physically and emotionally safe working environment promoting mutual trust and respect. The Supervisor is delivering a safe reliable product to our customers while achieving measurable objectives and making process improvements. Use leadership tools to drive team engagement and deliver business value.
What will make you successful?Required Education/
Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Five years or more in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Five plus years of shop floor experience in the home department (fabrication) required.
- Must possess a broad range of fabrication equipment and techniques such as Metal Saws, Punch Presses, ABS Cells, CNC, etc.
- Leadership experience and training preferred.
- Investigates safety incidents and works on preventive safety techniques with teams.
- Provides first response (first on the help chain) to team members when customer demand is jeopardized, or the area is shutting down due to safety and/or quality problems.
- Sponsors and facilitates rapid problem‑solving processes across areas. Works to remove waste across areas.
- Maintains personal touch with each team member during the shift.
- Develops work instructions and/or standardized work with team members and sponsors use of SOPs, safety and quality practices, and standardized work across areas.
- Coaches and educates crew/team in safety, quality, EBS concepts/principles, work practices, problem‑solving methods, and people issues.
- Uses problem‑solving techniques to resolve system‑related problems, quality problems, and human relations problems across areas.
- Signs off on standardized work forms to put improvements in place.
- Provides supervision, direction, and administrative functions – assignments, decisions, recognition, consequences, performance, discipline, etc. to team members in assigned areas.
- Monitors area for normal or abnormal conditions and educates crew based on findings.
