WhatWill You Do?
- Be self‑motivated and open‑minded to learn our machining and safety procedures.
- Set‑up and operate manual mills, lathes, and horizontal boring mills accurately.
- Lay out work and produce quality parts.
- Decipher sketches, blueprints, and engineering details.
- Assist in establishing setup, layout, order of operations, and material application.
- Carry a job from raw materials to finished product based on drawings, sketches, samples, or verbal instruction.
- Sharpen, rework, reset, and repair cutting tools.
- Inspect and check parts being produced.
- Maintain accurate production records and job history.
- Perform minor machine maintenance and assist in setting up complex machines.
- Stack, mark, pack, and transport finished products; work at different stations as required.
- Keep a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform any other assigned duty as directed by management.
- Travel locally, as needed.
- Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach overhead.
- Work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods.
- Lifting, pulling, and pushing materials and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
- Lifting and/or moving 50 pounds of weight frequently.
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Trade School (considered a plus).
Experience:
- 5+ years of machining experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of machine uses and manufacturing materials.
- Advanced knowledge of shop mathematics.
- Reciprocating compressor experience is a definite plus.
