• Be self‑motivated and open‑minded to learn our machining and safety procedures.
• Set‑up and operate manual mills, lathes, and horizontal boring mills accurately.
• Lay out work and produce quality parts.
• Decipher sketches, blueprints, and engineering details.
• Assist in establishing setup, layout, order of operations, and material application.
• Carry a job from raw materials to finished product based on drawings, sketches, samples, or verbal instruction.
• Sharpen, rework, reset, and repair cutting tools.
• Inspect and check parts being produced.
• Maintain accurate production records and job history.
• Perform minor machine maintenance and assist in setting up complex machines.
• Stack, mark, pack, and transport finished products; work at different stations as required.
• Keep a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform any other assigned duty as directed by management.
• Travel locally, as needed.

• Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Reach overhead.
• Work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods.
• Lifting, pulling, and pushing materials and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Lifting and/or moving 50 pounds of weight frequently.

Education:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Trade School (considered a plus).

Experience:

• 5+ years of machining experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of machine uses and manufacturing materials.
• Advanced knowledge of shop mathematics.
• Reciprocating compressor experience is a definite plus.
