Painters at Shale Pro Energy Services – New Milford, PA

Responsibilities
  • Clean and Prepare Surfaces

    Industrial Painters must first prepare the surface. If there are previous finishes, they are removed using masking, grit blast, pressure washing, tool cleaning or chemical rinse. Then, the surface is cleaned, smoothed, and dried before painting.

  • Prepare Paints

    Before starting a job, the painter prepares the paint, using measurement equipment such as viscosity cups, thickness gauges, and gloss gauges to check the makeup, and mixes the appropriate compounds. Many projects require epoxy paint application.

  • Apply Paint

    The painter uses spray equipment, airbrushes, stencils, rollers or brushes, selecting the best tool for the job, and paints primers, pre-finishes, and finishing coats. Safety equipment such as self‑contained suits or SCBA may be required.

  • Clean Work Areas

    After finishing a job, the painter cleans the area, following guidelines for safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste. Minimizing overspray is critical.

  • Maintain Equipment

    The painter is responsible for maintenance of painting equipment and troubleshooting technical issues.

  • Conditions Monitoring and Quality Reporting

    In field environments, the painter monitors all conditions and documents them for turnover packages, including millage testing.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Detail‑oriented and dependable, able to follow instructions and produce quality work.
  • Experience in industrial equipment painting and process piping.
  • Experience with wet painting using a gun.
  • Experience with blasting and all types of blasting media (sand, black beauty, glass bead, etc.).
  • Understanding of N.A.C.E. requirements.
  • Ability to gauge millage application and document with a millage tester.
  • Ability to differentiate between colors.
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities with frequent interruptions.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Works well with all levels of employees.
  • Strong communication skills.
