Overview
Are you interested in a career in the archery manufacturing industry? A growing archery bowstring facility in Cowansville is seeking 2 bowstring craftsmen to operate and maintain machines that layup, stretch, wrap, twist, measure and serve bowstrings. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals along with possessing the ability to calculate fundamental mathematical problems including fractions and decimals.
The job is fast-paced with the highest quality standards. Previous archery experience is helpful but not necessary.
- Determine machine setup procedures.
- Locate defects on raw & finished products.
- Check for conformance to specifications.
- Install, connect, test, and adjust equipment.
- Clean tools, machines, and work area.
- Resolve issues related to day-to-day operations and maintenance.
- Meet daily & weekly production goals.
- Develop respect and a working relationship with co-workers.
- Track daily production & weekly inventory.
- Demonstrate the ability to be creative and solve unique problems.
- High School Graduate (or equivalent).
- Mechanical skills and aptitude are required.
- Ability to operate mid-sized shop machinery.
- Ability to read ruler down to 1/64.
- Strong aptitude in problem-solving and process improvement.
- Ability to articulate problems and solutions verbally.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and personal initiative related to problem-resolution duties with follow-through and professionalism.
- Must pass pre-employment math, drug, and background checks.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing stressful situations.
Openings include full-time day and evening shifts along with part-time evenings & weekends. Starting base salary $20/hr plus production bonus up to $30/hr possible. $1 raise at 3 and 6 months. Overtime opportunities available as well. Benefits after a 90-day probation period. Benefits include HSA, retirement w/company match, health & vision insurance and paid vacation. Enjoy a work week of four 9-hour days with a half day on Friday.
