We are currently seeking a collaborative and detailed individual to join our Shipping team. This role will be responsible for preparing and processing outgoing shipments, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of products to customers or distribution centers, maintaining shipping records, and monitoring inventory levels in a manufacturing facility. A Shipping Associate works with a team to verify and pack orders, label packages, and coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery while adhering to safety and quality standards.
The ideal candidate is consistent, motivated, a great communicator, and can meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.
- Prepare and package materials for shipment based upon guidelines and/or customer instructions. Prepare shipments for carriers (i.e., UPS, Fed Ex, LTL and flatbed) and coordinate pickup. Verify the accuracy of shipment contents against packing lists and purchase orders. Maintain departmental records such as UPS shipments, package inventories, and packing slips.
- Ensure packages are properly sealed, labelled, and meet shipping regulations and guidelines. Obtain spare parts and prepare for shipping. Complete shipping tasks, use various hand, pneumatic, and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, presses. Communicate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries. Address customer inquiries or issues related to shipping and delivery.
- Keep records of goods that have been shipped using the ERP system (JD Edwards). Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and achieve daily and monthly targets.
- Stack and arrange products into crates, boxes, and cartons. Move pumps using cranes and hoists to prepare for shipment. Pull, assemble, and transact kitting work orders.
- Maintain organized inventory in the shipping area. Monitor stock levels of shipping supplies (boxes, packing materials, labels, etc.) and communicate needs to supervisor. Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation, including tracking numbers and delivery confirmation. Prepare shipping‑related paperwork such as bills of lading, packing slips and customs documents if applicable.
- Participate in training programs to improve shipping skills and product knowledge. Attend monthly EHS trainings. Must obtain and maintain IR certification/license for harness and equipment (Saw, forklift, and scissor lift). Follow all policies and procedures (i.e. report on time and ready to work – Start/Lunch/Breaks).
