Our client is a premier leader in custom manufacturing looking for a Shop Floor Production Manager to join their team! This role is designed for a resilient, hands‑on leader with at least 3 years of management experience and a minimum of 5 years in metal fabrication. The ideal candidate must be proficient in reading fabrication drawings and weld symbols, possess a working knowledge of ISO 9001 systems, and demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities- Manage daily shop floor operations to ensure all products meet ISO 9001 quality standards and customer specifications.
- Supervise and lead shop floor personnel, including team leads, welders, and fabricators. This role has direct responsibility for hiring, training, and performance management of direct reports.
- Ensure all work is performed according to approved drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Monitor production output, capacity, and workflow to ensure 100% on‑time delivery.
- Manage material traceability and the proper handling of work‑in‑process.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Scheduling, and Purchasing to communicate production status, constraints, and improvement opportunities to management.
- Support new product introductions, process changes, and equipment installations.
- Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing, 5S, and waste reduction activities.
- Track and report key production metrics.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in metal fabrication.
- 3-5 years in a supervisory or production management role, with a proven track record of managing direct reports.
- Ability to read and interpret complex fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
- Hands‑on working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work extended hours or weekends on the shop floor when required by specific projects or production demands.
