Location: Cabot

Penn United Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a full‑time Apprentice Quality Inspector to provide fully on‑site quality assurance services in our Stamping Department. This person will perform part inspection and documentation in order to achieve 100% quality production, continually improve manufacturing processes, and ensure customer satisfaction. This is a 3‑year in‑house certificate program.

Responsibilities
  • Work with manufacturing technicians to achieve acceptable product, meet or exceed customer quality standards, goals and deliveries.
  • Perform inspections and audits of materials and audit manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize inspection tools such as micrometers, indicators, digital height gauge and comparators, as needed.
  • Identify and report discrepancies with standard, placing all nonconforming product on hold.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of blueprint reading and inspection techniques (preferred not required)
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and deadlines
  • Strong reading, comprehension, math and problem‑solving skills
  • Visual acuity (20/20 vision or corrective lenses)
  • Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to work well independently and cooperatively with teams
  • Capable of completing applicable training on:
    • Statistics/Statistical Process Control
    • Measurement/inspection equipment
    • Technical Math
    • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (dependent upon job assignment)
  • Excellent organizational skills, self‑motivated, able to effectively manage multiple tasks.
