Our Pet Segment is seeking a Machine Operator to be a part of our Kaytee division based in Cressona, PA. You will be responsible for properly producing, packaging and palletizing product according to company specifications. • Ensure proper set up of Poly and Paper lines, including palletizing stations, robot and carton erectors to manufacture product.
• Take part in the manufacturing process by working on the line.
• Maintains quality assurance by recognizing proper manufacturing guidelines. (Example:
  Correct speed, date code, labels, tags, weight, packaging, cartons and pallets to customer specification).
• Recognize defective materials/products thru Quality inspections.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Recognize and report defective machine problems and unsafe working conditions to the floor supervisor.
• Ability to communicate with other employees in a manner promoting “team work” and a safe working environment.
• Maintains quality standards.
• Ensure proper information is recorded on manufacturing work orders. (Example: Correct amounts/counts, production and machine times, packaging usage, premix items)
• All employees are responsible for reporting food safety issues to those who can initiate corrective actions.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Mathematical skills required ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds on a regular basis.
• General mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent attendance record is a must.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes of airborne particles.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Higher levels of noise are marked by signs.
