Purpose

Design, program, simulate and test automated/vision machinery and processes in order to complete exact tasks. Responsible for contacting and communicating all changes and all crucial information to the Maintenance Manager as issues arise from production.

Responsibilities
  • Develop vision and automation programs.
  • Design electrical, mechanical, pneumatic systems.
  • Assess automation machines to ensure performance meets.
  • Implement necessary components on all machines and support systems.
  • Work with all departments as needed to troubleshoot automation/vision problems.
  • Assist with training on all automation and robots.
  • Communicate all changes and important information to the manager.
  • Ensure all system performances are optimized and running safely.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Manager daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
  • Record accurate production data that includes all necessary information needed for tracking purposes, assist in performing FAT and SAT testing, develop SOPs for automation/vision equipment.
  • Follow and enforce all applicable Environment, Health and Safety, ISO, Food Safety and cGMP policies and procedures. Report unsafe conditions and behaviors.
Education and Skills
  • Manufacturing and Automation Experience – 5–7 years.
  • Technical or Trade School/Mechatronics/Automation – Preferred.
  • Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical and Electrical experience required, must be able to competently operate automation equipment.
  • Must be familiar with automation, PLC’s, vision systems. Must be safety and quality conscious at all times.
  • Must be familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic systems of machines.
  • Production environment – must have excellent attendance.
  • Must be responsible, self‑motivated and team oriented.
  • Must be able to make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must have a willingness to take a "hands on" approach during times of process interruption.

  • Effectively communicate with all departments to see that production runs efficiently.
  • Clearly convey information pertaining to mold changes, production issues etc.
