Melt Shop Manager

Director of Headhunting Services at Movement Search & Delivery, Heavy Industry & Defense Manufacturing Salary Goals

• 110-120K
• 20% bonus

• Heavy industry manufacturing experience is preferred
• Foundry/Forging or Melt Shop experience preferred
• Site Statistics: 3 Melt Supervisors and 20 hourly direct reports

• Interview, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, coach, discipline, promote and terminate personnel.
• Assist the Director of Operations in developing short‑term & long‑term goals for the production, safety, quality and continuous improvement success of the Melt Shop department.
• Support the Project Manager with melt‑related projects.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating and Manufacturing Procedures.
• Develop and implement melt profiles to maximize product quality and furnace productivity.
• Review work order instructions, quality planning items, blend sheets, prior chemistry reports and other data as necessary to ensure accurate direction of work crews.
• Collect in‑process and product data and analyze to verify conformance to procedures and specifications.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement of processes (quality), equipment and maintenance (maximize reliability, melt time), including recording of data and analysis for measurement of melt center performance, and develop written standard procedures. Specifically drive the 6‑S effort in the VAR.

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering from a four‑year college or university and minimum of 3 years of related experience (BSEE preferred).
• Titanium experience would be very helpful (desired – not required).
• Ability and desire to manage a 24‑hour per day, 7‑day per week manufacturing operation.
