Location DescriptionKlingerstown, Pennsylvania known for their ice cream socials at Klingerstown Lutheran Parish, fishing rodeo, and fireman's parade.
Responsibilities- Assumes personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures and incorporates safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
- Ensures regulatory compliance at all times.
- Must have the ability to pack product at any of 5 lines or at the ovens in the Cooked Department.
- The utility person must perform weight/quality checks, metal detector checks and corresponding computer and paperwork and enter data in the Red Zone Compliance Module.
- Must perform morning start-up line checks and shut-down procedures.
- Must be proficient at all machine set-up and troubleshooting in the packaging area including tape machines and boxmaker.
- Must assist in break and lunch coverage as needed.
- Must determine if product meets proper specifications and inform supervisor or take corrective action as needed.
- Must coach line workers on acceptable versus unacceptable product, ensuring all packable product is put into finished cases to reduce shrink.
- Must perform daily and weekly Autonomous Maintenance line walks, recording motor temperatures and vibrations; basic troubleshooting required. Findings are recorded on the iPad.
- Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure product quality to maintain SQF Level 3 certification. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that facilitates good relations with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Must have good verbal and communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Must be a self‑motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision.
- Must have good knowledge of the Cooked Department with up to 6 months experience in that department or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to work indoors in a damp changing environment for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to travel stairs.
- Ability to learn and understand cross‑contamination issues and how to avoid them.
- Must wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job.
- Must know customer specifications.
- Must retain knowledge for future use.
- Ability to operate specific equipment or tools.
- Skill in working with computers, iPads and experience with spreadsheet and word‑processing software.
The pay range for this position is $19.50 to $25.00 per hour.
