Manual Machinist – Lenni PA

Responsibilities- Maintain and operate all machine shop equipment.
- Maintain accurate work ticket records with drawings.
- Work with E‑Maintenance (Software) to schedule tooling and equipment repairs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing personnel on die design, engineering changes, tooling repairs, and drawings of new tooling.
- Inspect tooling and parts machined in‑house and by outside fabricators.
- Maintain quality levels on all machine equipment and the maintenance environment.
- Maintain ISO work instructions.
- Report near‑misses/accidents to the manager or supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment throughout the machine shop area.
- Report daily, weekly activities and problems to the machine shop manager.
- Ensure the work environment follows 5S principles (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) prior to shift change.
- Ensure good dialogue within the team and provide feedback to the manager, encouraging feedback from the team.
- Work effectively with other departments.
- Operate manual lathe, bridgeport mill, drill press, and surface grinder.
- Proficient in the use of gauges, micrometers, verniers, chucks, collets, steady rests, tools, drills, taps, honing equipment, and bars.
- Knowledge of fabrication and assembly techniques, tools, equipment, materials, and shop equipment.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings.
- Understand working qualities of materials including cast iron, steel, aluminum, copper, brass, and plastics.
- Good mechanical aptitude in matching operations.
- Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and continuous improvement in quality.
- Meet productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner.
- Observe safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions.
- Self‑motivated and consistently punctual.
- Willing to work extra hours and weekend shifts if needed.
- Analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Basic computer skills with internal software and Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Understanding of manufacturing safety regulations and practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade school experience or Vo‑Tech.
- Five years operating manual machines.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Training matrix requirements list HR‑‑003 for minimum training requirements.
- Re‑certification required when deemed necessary by the direct manager.
