Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Scope
Learn basic operational procedures and work culture while working with an experienced Technician. Clean and grease parts and work with basic equipment and tools while keeping the work environment clean and safe.
Essential Duties- Required to work in conjunction with a more Sr. Level Technician (field /shop repair)
- Learn safety and quality expectations
- Learn attendance expectations and work culture
- Operate basic equipment and tools
- Learn operational procedures
- Clean and lubricate equipment and parts
- Organize a safe, productive, and efficient work environment
- Perform at an acceptable level measured by labor efficiency (i.e. quality, time, learning curve knowledge, etc.)
- Learn, read, and comprehend service manuals to achieve familiarity with related tools and equipment
- Communicate with co-workers professionally Consistent with Mellott Company Values
- Follow all training assigned
- Maintain an overall safe work environment
- Keep work area clean
- Drive company vehicles when needed
Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to precisely and accurately collect and record measurements
- Display attention to detail
- Ability to use and read calipers and micrometers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivation to continually improve
High school diploma, GED, or equal years of experience
Experience RequirementsHydraulic, electrical, or mechanical background preferred
Physical RequirementsIndividual must be prepared for:
- Reaching - 20% of shift
- Bending - 60% of shift
- Pushing - 20% of shift
- Pulling - 40% of shift
- Climbing - 40% of shift
- Sitting - 20% of shift
- Overhead work - 20% of shift
- Standing - 90% of shift
- Walking - 90% of shift
- Lifting up to 50 pounds - 60% of shift

- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment physical
- Possess a valid drivers license and a clean driving record
Work takes place outside subject to weather or in service shop. Work is in a loud to moderately loud environment. Individual must be prepared to work in hot or cold temperatures. Individual may be exposed to fumes or chemicals. Personal protective equipment, such as steel toe boots, safety goggles, and ear plugs/muffs, is required in the shop.
