ROLE

The Managing Director – Identity & Compliance Vertical is responsible for building the strategy, defining the product roadmap, designing solutions, leading the business development and the go-to-market strategy. The Managing Director is primarily accountable for the development and execution of the strategy and achievement of business results.

You work across the organization to guide, challenge and provide practical support for the planning, long-term development and effective delivery of SICPA’s ambitions globally.

The Managing Director leads a team of experts capable of building solutions in a matrix environment solving complex issues in G2G, B2G and B2B ecosystems.

The team will provide high-level analysis and solve critical questions, supporting the organization to identify issues that require further investigation or exploration, and supporting the Commercial workforce to navigate key strategic decisions regarding our solutions portfolio and clients’ needs.

This role will also provide technical and pragmatic support when required to support the sales cycle.

Commercial Activities :

  • Develop and implement the vertical commercial strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth through sales strategies, pricing models, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Lead sales and marketing teams to deliver integrated campaigns that support acquisition and retention.
  • Lead business development efforts to generate profitable growth by expanding the business and its related revenue streams.
  • Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets ensuring high team performance.

Strategy and Execution

  • Direct the long-range planning, policies, and strategic frameworks for market risk and opportunity assessment.
  • Develop market approaches with internal partners (R&I, Strategy Office) to guide prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Shape products and solutions for competitive profiling and strengthen SICPA’s value proposition.
  • Oversee product/solution development and commercialization processes, ensuring progress toward key milestones.
  • Proactively identify risks, drive mitigation strategies, and communicate key results to governance boards.

Leadership and Matrix Management

  • Manage diverse senior professionals, setting direction and deploying resources.
  • Define and communicate a clear vision across matrix teams to ensure alignment and engagement.
  • Oversee team goals, standards, and performance management in collaboration with functional leaders.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability for team leaders while proposing headcount and budgets.
  • Influence and support prioritization across Research & Innovation teams, demonstrating strong peer leadership.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Maintain clear communication with key stakeholders across functions and markets to support alignment.
  • Coordinate and harmonize activities to minimize risks arising from cross-functional dependencies.
  • Ensure transparency in strategy, milestones, and decisions for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent commercial and market interests in executive discussions and governance boards.
  • Foster collaborative relationships that support market entry, product development, and long-term success.

PROFILE

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Economics, or an equivalent qualification in a related discipline.
  • Certification in project management is a strong plus.
  • More than 15 years of professional experience in a related area in an industrial organization.
  • Experience in delivering complex projects, involving the delivery of material and/or digital solutions, (e.g.: Brand Protection, e-, e-Passport).
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English (mandatory) and French. Other languages are a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, German).
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, e-mail applications.
