As Sr. Project Manager you will lead a complex large Greenfield project that requires considerable resources and high levels of functional integration. You will be responsible for Budget, Timeline and Quality of the project, applying project management methodologies and leading a team of internal and external engineers.

Reporting formally to the Regional Cap Ex Business Partner with a dotted line to the overall Project Lead, the Sr. Project Manager will also provide regular updates to the Steering Committee throughout the duration of the assigned project.

The position is based at our Pedro Escobedo, Querétaro site, with an on-site work model.

In this exciting opportunity, you'll:

  • Assemble and manage the project team (internal, external resources)
  • Animate and coordinate the performance of the project team members
  • Monitor project team performance and complete performance reviews (also for future use)
  • Coach, mentor and motivate project team (project managers/engineers)

Function management:

  • Promote daily work of assigned strategic project (or phase) and manage project resources to drive a successful project delivery
  • Prepare Project/Portfolio Plan and financial forecasts/estimates for all phases
  • Deliver appropriate executive level communication to Ste Co and stakeholders with regular status reporting, KPIs, project deliverables, dependencies and risks
  • Manage causes and lead project portfolio according to the Cap Ex/PM processes
  • Ensure adherence to Global, regional and local standards (EHS, Quality, IM&S, IM&T, Man Ex/GPS, Innovation, Sustainability)
  • Drive selection of engineering suppliers and vendors together with IM&S, assisting negotiation and dispute management.
  • Facilitate and resolve conflicts among project team members and other stakeholders
  • Provide consultation and participate Post Implementation Reviews
  • Participate to the development of Cap Ex/PM standards when requested

Decision-making authority

  • Initial signature on Contracts with external engineering suppliers
  • Authorization of scope changes to Steering Committee

You?

Your professional profile includes:

  • BSc/MSc in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management certification (PMI, PRINCE2).
  • Fluent in English and (preferred) Spanish
  • Experience leading large green/brown field projects (8+ years) preferably in food/chemical
  • Experience mentoring
  • Experience in complex/matrix organizations
  • Experience in the FMCG industry.
  • Experience in contracts management and supplier selection processes
  • Knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines
  • Solid knowledge of Cap Ex and related financial aspects
  • User of MS Office tools. User of PPM tools (preferably CA Clarity).
