Janssen Global Services, LLC, part of Johnson & Johnson, is recruiting for a Senior Director, External Innovation, Immunology. This role reports to the Global Commercial Strategy Leader (GCSL), Immunology, and is a member of the Immunology GCSO Leadership team, the Immunology Therapeutic Area Leadership Team, and the Immunology Portfolio Council.

The Senior Director, External Innovation Will
  • Partner with Disease Area Stronghold (DAS) and TA co-leaders to establish and align an integrated IMM external innovation strategy, including opportunities through New Business Development, Innovation Centers, Mergers and Acquisitions, and other external opportunities.
  • Work with Finance (including TA Finance Director, BD Finance, and IC Finance Leads) to develop data-driven, stage-gate-appropriate valuations for external innovation opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Immunology TA with Regional Commercial teams regarding deal strategy, prioritization, local forecasting, and competitive landscape insights; in partnership with Immunology DAS Analytics, ensure differentiated competitive landscape insights that impact strategy and deal decisions.
  • Support the Immunology GCSO Leadership Team by expanding Johnson & Johnson Immunology Commercial connectivity to the marketplace and building relationships with current and potential collaboration/BD target commercial leaders.
Leadership Profile Expectations

This individual will be a collaborative, strategic, results-oriented business leader with a proven track record in leading value-creating initiatives at local, regional, or global levels. S/he will balance long-term visionary opportunities with superb near-term implementation. The ability to lead through influence in a matrix organization is critical. The candidate must be capable of leading high-performing, multi-functional teams and integrating technical, regulatory, competitive, and market knowledge/insight.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a BS/BA degree is required
  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive and diverse business leadership experience is required, with meaningful experience in marketing, business development, strategic consulting, or analytics functions
  • An understanding of the pharmaceuticals industry, healthcare economics, and value chain/value creation is required
  • A demonstrated track record of successfully managing high-performing teams and delivering strong, measurable business results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions, with peers, and in senior executive forums
  • Learning agility and an enterprise mindset
  • This position will be based in Horsham, PA (note: travel up to 20%, including international travel)
