The North Penn YMCA is seeking a part time Maintenance Technician.

Salary:

$16-$20 per hour

Qualifications:
  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED equivalent is typically the minimum requirement. Vocational training or an associate’s degree in facilities maintenance or a related field may be preferred.
  • Experience:

    Previous experience in building and grounds maintenance, or related fields like carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work, is generally required.
Skills
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools. Basic understanding of general maintenance procedures. Ability to read to strip and was floor is a plus. Familiarity with landscaping and groundskeeping practices.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain facilities and equipment in safe working order; report all issues to director
  • Perform facility maintenance; including but not limited to implementation of preventative maintenance programs for facility and fitness equipment, ongoing renovations as needed
  • Perform exterior building and ground maintenance as required
  • Assist Building & Grounds Director in YMCA safety program, including meetings, trainings and inspections. Become familiar with necessary program documentation for exposure to governing entities;
    Insurance inspections, Fire inspections, OSHA, County Health, Universal Building Codes, and other licensing procedures
  • Addresses service request issues
  • Ability to process, understand and respond appropriately to emergency situations
  • Perform locker room walk-throughs as required by branch director, or as deemed necessary and address all housekeeping and maintenance issues
  • Produce Maintenance operation reports and daily walk through reports
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards
  • Maintain, repair and store all tools and equipment ensuring they are in safe working order
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the North Penn YMCA
  • Ability to perform the following physical activities adequately: standing, sitting, squatting, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • Ability to function under inside and outside environmental conditions
  • Ability to lift or carry up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Ability to perform the following sensory and communicative activities adequately: hearing and seeing; reading, writing, speaking English fluently.
