Senior Manager - Legal

Responsibilities

• Strategize trademark adoption, opposition and enforcement measures
• Initiate and respond to/ review opposition documents
• Liaise with internal clients and marketing teams to advise on branding and IP risk mitigation
• Handle restoration of trademarks, secondary evidence submissions and settlements in case of conflicts
• Advise internal clients on trademark protection strategies like sending out C&D Notices, replying to notices, etc.
• Ensure the company/subsidiary house marks are protected in various jurisdictions
• Assist the Litigation team in any trademark related matters

• Evaluate marks being purchased or sold for title issues and conduct due diligence
• Draft and evaluate relevant trademark related provisions
• Work with attorneys on transaction documents

• Advise on trademark related aspects in artworks of products
• Advise on mandatory labelling declarations from the point of view of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, Drugs and Magical Remedies Act, Legal Metrology Act, Food Safety and Standards Act
• Review artworks to ensure compliance with the above‑mentioned laws
• Review different kinds of advertisements such as television commercials, radio ads, hoardings, posters etc. for products sold by the company
• Map artwork review responsibilities to specific teams and update compliance checklists regularly to include statutory amendments, especially in the nutraceutical sector
• Engage in cross‑functional discussions and external legal consultations to evaluate amendments, notify internal stakeholders, and develop compliance strategies
• Draft legal representations to government authorities where deadline extensions or alternate compliance approaches are sought

The individual should have between 7 to 12 years of PQE with 2 to 3 years spent in a law firm where the individual practiced in trademark law. Preference for candidates from Pharma or FMCG industry.
