The Person al Lines Underwriter will be assigned as the primary personal lines underwriter fora group of independent agencies and will be tasked with handling all personal lines underwriting and processing for their assigned agents. This individual will become very knowledgeable with our available personal lines insurance products as well as our online systems and underwriting requirements, so that they can assist our agents in placing business with Farmers Fire.

The Person al Lines Underwriter is charged with maintaining and developing good working relationships with agents in order to help our thempartner effectively with Farmers Fire. As anunderwriter some minor travel (within Pennsylvania) will be involved associated with visiting independent agents at their office to meet with and train agents.

• 1-5 Years Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance. Experience can be as an underwriter, insurance agent, or other relevant position.
• Academics: while a 4-year degree is not required, it is preferred. Adegree specific to insurance is not a requirement.
• Valid Property and Casualty Producers License
• Skills:

  • Highly responsible and trustworthy in independent settings
  • Studious and able to learn independently
  • While helpful, direct knowledge of insurance is not a requirement. This information will be taught during the Junior Underwriter level of this position.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
