Underwriting Specialist​/Underwriting Manager

We are looking for an Underwriter within Arch Alternative Markets to handle technical underwriting, account management, and client management of our casualty group captive programs.

• Technical Underwriting:
  Solicit and review account information, identify exposures, assess risk, set program structures, underwrite, price, and prepare proposals.
• Account Management:
  Manage pre and post bind activities, compliance, audits, adjustments, legal agreements, TPA coordination, renewal/retention management.
• Client Management:
  Build relationships with producers and insureds, develop strategic plans, coordinate team introductions.
• Administrative:
  Maintain underwriting and policy file documentation, complete ad‑hoc projects.

• Understanding of Workers Compensation, General Liability, Automobile coverage forms and endorsements.
• Knowledge of loss‑sensitive, excess & surplus lines, and captive programs.
• Exposure identification and analysis skills.
• Cross‑functional generalist knowledge (claims, risk control, audit, accounting, finance, legal).
• Regulatory and compliance knowledge.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• CPCU or similar designation a plus.
• 3–5 years underwriting experience in loss‑sensitive, excess & surplus, or captive insurance marketplaces.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Established broker or captive program relationships not required.

Base salary range: $125,000 – $145,000 per year + 10% target bonus.

Compensation may vary based on location, scope, qualifications, and business needs.
